Our Faculty here at Evolution Dance San Diego has some of the finest dance teachers in the region.  Our dance teachers are all experts in their chosen dance style and will help your child to reach the very height of their potential as dancers, in a fun and nurturing environment.

Claire Bloom

Claire Bloom graduated in South Africa with a degree in musical theatre and has completed her Royal Academy of Dance Ballet exams. Although Claire has been teaching since she was 18, it was only after performing for 3 years that she realized teaching is her passion.

Claire has taught dance in London, South Africa, and the USA. She has been teaching dance in San Diego for 5 years and she feels lucky to share what she loves with kids. Claire is a certified Pilates, Yoga and Barre instructor. She teaches full time and is so happy to be a part of the Evolution Dance Family.

Michelle Clark

Michelle has been dancing all of her life. She came from a family with a very strong dance background and she always knew that she wanted to pursue a dance career with a particular interest in choreography and teaching.

She received a scholarship to EDGE Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles and Broadway Dance Center in New York City. Michelle has also had the honor of taking master classes with tap legends Gregory Hines,Savion Glover, Brenda Buffalino and Buster Brown. Whilst on scholarship in the summer of 1999 she studied with the late Gus Giordano at his Dance Center in Chicago.

She successfully combined a strong academic and dance education and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Pittsburgh in 2001. During her time as a student she danced with the University Dance Team and later became their lead choreographer.

Michelle has spent almost a decade teaching and choreographing students for competitive dance conventions. She has received numerous choreography awards. her students have been highly placed in many competitions and Michelle was the teacher of the 2010 winner of the highly prestigious Dance Masters of America. She was also a lead choreographer and dancer for the movie Dr Ravi and Mr Hyde in 2007. Her students have performed at the Rockefeller Center Christmas Spectacular, Cirque De Soleil Viaggio and been accepted into the Jacqueline Kennedy Onasis American Ballet Theater program in New York

She was the director of her family’s dance studio Sandra Lynn’s School of Dance in Pennsylvania from 2001 to 2008. Michelle moved to the San Diego area in 2008 and is excited to be a member of the faculty at Evolution Dance Studio.

Jillian Clark

Jillian Clark, born and raised on the Central Coast of California, spent her teenage years pursuing her passion of dance in her family-owned studio, Dellos Performing Arts Center. Receiving her technical training in Jazz, Tap, and Lyrical under the watchful eye of the Dellos family while training under her mentor Marco Cruz for Contemporary and Hip Hop, she soon became a top competitive and convention dancer winning numerous awards and scholarships.

Jillian discovered her gift for teaching and by the age of 16 began teaching Master Classes in addition to mentoring young dancers at Dellos studios. Since becoming a professional dancer in 2011 under the guidance of Bill Bohl, Jillian has been featured in several music videos and commercial projects, working for clients such as Kwanzaa Jones, Brooklyn Jai, Kamran and Hooman, Samsung, Ubisoft, Step Up Fitness, Dyan Cannon, and FlashMob America. Jillian, currently resides in LA and is currently planning for her first feature film and international tour in 2013.


David has been dancing for 13 years. He started his dance life as a Bboy. He was discovered and recruited by corporate entertainment company Hopstar.

His dance career began when he was discovered and recruited by Hopstar a professional entertainment company. He performed at over 200 venues in the US including California, Las Vegas and Florida.

David has competed extensively in both national and international competitions and in 2006 his group ranked First in the US and received a Bronze Medal in the Hip Hop International Championship.

He has been teaching hip hop to students for over a decade having begun his career as a director for youth hip hop dance groups. David’s students have had great success including awards of First Place in the US and and 5th in the World.

In 2008 David was honored to be chosen to dane with the internationally acclaimed hip hop dance group Culture Shock. After just one year he became their Bboy director.

As a member of Culture Shock David was cast in the Sea World show Riptide as a lead dancer. After one ear he returned as Dance Director and Choreographer for the show.

David brings his considerable talent, enthusiasm and teaching expertise to Evolution Dance Center.



Ariana Samuelsson

Ariana Samuelsson received her training primarily from her parents Steven and Elizabeth Wistrich, co-directors of City Ballet School and Company. She performed professionally for one season with Atlanta Ballet and two seasons with Joffrey Ballet before returning to City Ballet in 2006.

As a principal dancer with City Ballet of San Diego she has danced such roles as the Sugar Plum Fairy in The Nutcracker, Giselle in the full-length Giselle, Kitri in Don Quixote, Helena in a Midsummer Night’s Dream, Carmen in Carmen, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and the title role in House of Alba, Swan Lake, La Baydere, Spartacus Pas de Deux, Grand Pas Classique and Ramona.

Additionally, she has been featured in leading roles in contemporary ballets and works by George Balanchine, including Tchaikovsky Pas de Deux, Agon, Serenade, Sonatine and Rubies.
